Scanning Receipts

Overview

NEXOS processes expense receipts from any vendor — restaurants, retailers, gas stations, office supply stores, and more. NexosIQ handles the full range of receipt formats, from printed thermal paper to emailed digital receipts.

Captured Fields

• Vendor name and location
• Transaction date and time
• Line items (description, quantity, price)
• Subtotal, tax, tip, and total
• Payment method (when present)
• Receipt or transaction number

Receipt vs. Invoice

Receipts and invoices are processed through the same NexosIQ engine but stored and managed separately. Receipts typically represent immediate point-of-sale transactions; invoices represent payable vendor bills. Both sync independently to QuickBooks and Xero.

Upload Methods

All upload methods available for invoices — web upload, email forwarding, mobile capture, and API — are fully supported for receipts.
